Home Scent Guide: Choosing a Fragrance for Every Room
How to choose fragrance profiles and intensity for a living room, bedroom, home office, bathroom and open-plan space.
Home fragrance works best when it supports the room rather than competing with it. Think about how the space is used, how much airflow it gets and the mood you want to create before choosing a fragrance profile.
Living room
For shared living spaces, choose balanced profiles that remain comfortable over time: tea, soft woods, amber, citrus or clean musks are versatile directions.
Bedroom
Bedrooms often suit softer, calmer scent profiles. Keep intensity lower than in a large living room and avoid placing the diffuser directly beside the bed.
Home office
Clean citrus, tea, aromatic or lightly woody profiles can help the room feel fresh without becoming distracting during long work sessions.
Bathroom and spa-inspired spaces
Airy tea, green, citrus and clean woody profiles can complement the crisp atmosphere people often want in a bathroom or dressing area.
Open-plan rooms
In larger connected spaces, choose one primary fragrance direction and adjust output gradually. Competing scents in adjacent areas can make the atmosphere feel less cohesive.
How to set intensity
Start low. Let the diffuser run long enough for fragrance to circulate, then increase only if the room still feels under-scented.
